Pattern: Sixpence Shawl for Twist Collective Fall 201410.20.2014
The Twist Collective photo shoot for Sixpence, my new shawl in the Fall 2014 issue, featured some truly stunning images – but I thought I would share some more beautiful pics of Sixpence, featuring my wonderful friend and intrepid sample knitter, Mollie Murray.
Mollie lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, which is, from the looks of these photos, apparently an lovely, lush paradise. Her friend Ami of Lakes Yarn and Fiber (whose incredibly soft and squishy yarn is the focus of the design I currently have on the needles, more later!) took these great photos. I really think they show off the shawl’s lace medallion border beautifully – and the deep saturated indigo of the yarn really shows well in them too.
In case you haven’t seen Sixpence, you can find it at Twist Collective or on Ravelry. Knitted in Dragonfly Fibers Damsel (a sport/DK yarn I loved so much I knit another, silvery Sixpence out of it recently – pics to come!), it’s a fast and fun semicircular modified Pi shawl that comes in four sizes from 49 – 77” across, ranging from 670-1340 yards. I hear it looks good in a gradient, too, though I have yet to try it myself. If you’re making one, please send me pictures!
